Here we go, this will be the last week for any nudity points or magazine points. Sunday night will bring the official end of our inaugural season. All award points and the last box office points will be added at the beginning of next week and we’re out. There’s still room for some positioning (bragging rights) so stay tuned until the end. Said can go down on a collective babadiiick. Hit the link below for the entire spreadsheet or punch the picture below because you lost.
We’re over the hump and headed to the climax of Banshee’s third season. Moreno and Law talk about the slower pace of this episode and try to figure out how everything is going to play out. Such as…. who’s the next major character to die, will the heist take place this season or next, why the daughter sucks so much, and the entire meaning behind who has a beard and who doesn’t. Enter Black Beard. Check it out and get drunk.
While Moreno defects to New York City in order to open his dream project (Taco Muchacho!), Ammon and Law slave away for your entertainment. We got some TV Round-Up featuring Banshee, The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul, and The Slap.
We got our Oscar predictions and hopfuls as we prepare for the big night this Sunday.
We got What Did You Watch with 50 SHADES OF GREY, TOP FIVE, SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS: SPONGE OUT OF WATER, MILIUS, DUMB AND DUMBER TO, and OF MIRACLES AND MEN.
We also rant about Twitter and do other drunk stuff periodically throughout the show. Come drink with us. Now.
I wasn’t really clear on how I wanted to approach this article so I started looking through some pictures on the internet. Then boobs. Then I just decided to throw up a gallery for fans of the show and those sad people that haven’t even started watching. Hopefully this will get some people to tune in. Banshee has consistently gotten better and better over the years and deserves a much bigger audience than it has. Sons of Anarchy was a hugely popular television show. This is better. The Walking Dead is the biggest show on the planet. This is much better. Get on board if you’re late to the party and let this bunch of awesomeness kick start your obsession. Let’s start with this video of the finer arts.
After his outstanding performance in WHIPLASH, the best film of last year (in my opinion), all the nominations and awards, a great interview with Howard Stern this past week, and upcoming hosting duties on Saturday Night Live, J.K. Simmons is the Hollywood’s golden boy right now. It’s deserved, no doubt, but my obsession with the man has been brewing for years.
Oz is is the revolutionary drama that started it all for HBO. It was the first, and some say, the best tv show in a long string of perfection from the channel. Simmons played Vernon Schillinger, the leader of The Aryan Brotherhood. He was one of the most feared and ridiculous characters on the show. If he wasn’t raping asses, spitting in food, dropping n-bombs, or verbally destroying other inmates, he was on the top of everybody’s murder list and getting his face shit upon. There’s not a ton of great clips online of Schillinger, which is weird because he easily had most of the shows greatest moments, but I found a couple clips that made me laugh.
He’s also J. Jonah Jameson in the original SPIDER-MAN trilogy. Almost every actor that has portrayed a character in a super hero movie has been criticized at some point. Not J.K. Simmons. With an unforgiving fanbase such as the comic fanboys, Simmons seemed to hit every nail on every head when it came to J.J.J. On his way out the door of the Stern interview he mentioned that his return to the character is a “possibility”. No matter how many times you try to reboot a billion dollar franchise, you can’t replace perfection.
And, if that wasn’t enough, he’s also the voice of the yellow M&M. I didn’t even know this until the Stern interview. Why is this cool? I have no idea. It’s not like I was a huge fan of the M&M commercials or anything (until now) but I find it hilarious that Vern Schilliger, possibly the most vile, racist, and rapey character in the history of television is a fucking cartoon candy.
He’s going to win the Oscar next month and then we’ll see him in TERMINATOR GENISYS. He’s currently doing re-shoots for THE ACCOUNTANT with Ben Affelck and Anna Kendrick, and is on the pre-production cast list for KING KONG: SKULL ISLAND. We’ll be seeing a lot more of J.K. in the upcoming years. That, my friends, is a great thing.
Not a lot of box office points this week but some lucky slugs scored in other ways. Julianne Moore continued her award domination by adding a SAG, ScarJo and NotATwin Olsen showed up on the cover of Empire, Streep and Emma Stone scored an Entertainment Weekly cover, and there was some owed nudity points for the sexy ex-wife/assassin/hot as shit, Ivana Milicevic in Banshee. There’s a month left in the league and it’s going to be tough (impossible) to catch Said so start planning for year two. Hit the link below for the full spreadsheet or memorize the picture so I can stop thinking of stupid things to say here.
Ammon and Jack have issues with the Superbowl this upcoming weekend so there’s no better place to work things out than here. The boys shit talk each other and come up a devastating wager that nobody is happy with (except Law) in order to end the Seahawks/Patriots match-up.
Kupka and Moreno call in to talk about Banshee and be drunk.
TV Round-Up covers Justified, Banshee, and Magnum PI & MacGyver for some reason.
What Did You Watch has tales of AMERICONS, EVERLY, INTERSTELLAR, THE JUDGE, INHERENT VICE, THE MAZE RUNNER, BRICK MANSIONS, THE RIOT CLUB, and TURTLES FOREVER.
Stay tuned this week for our Banshee commentary and other drunk bullshit.
We’re getting closer to the end of our inaugural season (ends Feb 22, after the Oscars) and it looks like it’s going to be hard to catch Said Helal. There were a shitload of points given out this week as Banshee returned with nude scenes for it’s two main hotties. The Shailene Woodley nudity has finally been confirmed. Golden Globe Winner points came through for Julianne Moore and Amy Adams. SAG nominees were added. Oscar nominees were added. All that said, the only thing I’m left hoping for is that Ammon comes in last. If that happens we’re all winners. Except Ammon. Click the link below for the entire spreadsheet or stream the pic to your 60 inch plasma TV and show your neighbors how much of a creep you are through the window.
No Monday Morning Moreno podcast this week, as I have a shit ton of work to do at the j-o-b and at home. But in order to not leave you hanging, here’s the complete list of Golden Globe winners via Varietywith brief commentary from yours truly.
Make sure to listen to this week’s BingeCastas we rapid fire review 96 movies including some of the best of the year. And then get really wasted.
