Batch and Logan go heavy with TV round up this month as they bounce around from Watchmen to Batwoman to Stumptown. In between all of this, Batch reviews Jay and Silent Bob reboot, Logan finds a goddamn way to talk about Spider-Man (big shock) and the two discuss the nerdgasm that will be Crisis on Infinite Earths. Put away those geek boners, please. This is a family show.
After a lengthy absence from the airwaves, Batch and Logan catch you up on all the geeky good stuff going down. While it’s been reviewed 14,000 times on the site, Logan gives thoughts on Incredibles 2. He also provides first impressions on its video game counterpart, Lego Incredibles. Batch spoils the crap out of Batman #50 (the wedding issue), and the boys gush over a Disney game called Disney Heroes: Battle Mode. These hosts are adults, right? Allegedly. Also a ton of Spider-Man movie stuff is discussed, from Venom to Silk to Far From Home to this new (and really not needed) Morbius movie. And of course, the big news: Disney scooping up 21st Century Fox like it ain’t no thang. Can’t wait for that Deadpool and Goofy crossover movie!
That probably won’t happen. Whatever, we can dream.
This week, I am joined by Ultimate Logan James, and together we bookend our original Spider-Man retrospective by dissecting anything and everything about Spider-man Homecoming. What did we like? What didn’t we like? How was Michael Keaton’s return to comic book acting? And why is (Aunt) May so freakin hot?
Download below to find out the answers to these questions and more!
And be sure to check this space next Friday, as Jim Law, Nate Peterson, and I start our look at the Jaws franchise.
Warning: Major spoilers ahead. Do not listen if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t want to be spoiled.
This column will introduce you to the most popular movies that are coming out in theaters this weekend.
What movie will you see?
A Ghost Story
First off, this is not a horror movie. A Ghost Story is about a recently deceased husband who is lurking around his wife in a white sheet, but I don’t think she can see him. Starring in this drama romance flick are Casey Affleck and Rooney Mara. David Lowery is the writer and director of A Ghost Story. Lowery has directed a ton of shorts, Pete’s Dragon (2016), and is set to direct a live action Peter Pan flick. How many Pan flicks do we need? Anyway, go check out A Ghost Story this weekend.
Spider-Man: Homecoming
This Spider-Man flick takes place several months after the events in Civil War. Tom Holland is back to reprise his Peter Parker/Spider-Man role from Civil War, while the rest of the cast includes Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Marisa Tomei, Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow, Zendaya, Donald Glover, and more. Jon Watts swings his way into the director’s chair as well as writing the screenplay. Watts has directed 2014’s Clown, and Cop Car. I know everyone will see this movie this weekend. So enjoy.

What movie will you see this weekend?
The Fate of the Furious
Fast 8. Furious 8. F8 of the Furious. Furiou8. Anyway, Dom is back again. However, it seems Dom may be switching sides. Dun Dun Dun. Starring in this elaborate car chase/heist flick are Vin (I am Groot) Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Jason Statham, Scott Eastwood, Kurt Russell, Michelle Rodriguez, Helen Mirren, and more. Directing Fast 8 is F. Gary Gray. Gray has directed A Man Apart, The Italian Job, Be Cool, Law Abiding Citizen, and Straight Outta Compton. It seems Gray has worked with Vin, The Rock, and Charlize before. Go see F8 this weekend.
The Lost City of Z
You’re lost. Ok Jax, relax. Based on a true story, The Lost City of Z is about a British explorer who goes missing while searching for a mysterious city in the 1920’s. Starring in this real-life action adventure tale are Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, Sienna Miller, Tom Holland, Ian McDiarmid, and more. James Gray is the writer/director of this flick. Gray has written and directed The Yards, We Own the Night, Two Lovers, and The Immigrant. Use that GPS and don’t get lost on your way to the theater this weekend.
