Moreno is back on mystery tour so Ammon and I left to talk shit about him relentlessly. We also make time for the Game of Thrones and Fargo finales in TV Round-Up, a review of Stephen King’s new novel, Mr. Mercedes in Literally Literary, and Ammon’s rapid fire reviews of THE VISITOR, JACK RYAN: SHADOW RECRUIT, UNSTOPPABLE, and DEATH SPA. You can watch the trailer for Death Spa below. I had to.
There’s Google Voice translations aplenty, lots of booze, and the greatest voicemail cameo of all time. Click below to listen. Do it!
There’s still no confirmation on whether or not Ammon survived his camping trip but we recorded a new show anyway. Filling in for the broccoli stalk is the great Garrett Collins of AdventureAmigos.net. Garrett is kind enough to inform us of what else is happening on the internet these days, why he hates leaving his house, what makes him cry, and the dozens of projects he’s working on.
He also gets to play the Google Voice game, help review 22 JUMP STREET, watches THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, and declares his love for Louie.
All this and more is just a click away. Do that and then prepare yourselves for our final Game of Thrones & Fargo commentaries of the season later this week.
As the Mexican lurks around Michigan on his mystery tour, Ammon and Law strap in for another epic conversation about TV, movies, books, and drunk stupidity. Ammon previews his Friday the 13th camping trip next weekend and elaborates on how his wife and him will probably be slaughtered in their tent.
Google Voice is no match for Ammon at this point. He takes a few of the most ridiculous messages ever and nails them without even thinking twice. And he cheats a little bit.
TV Round-Up is jam-packed with talk of Game of Thrones, Fargo, 24, Hannibal, Orange Is the New Black, and Hannibal.
We both check out GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL (and give an actual review that makes sense) and EDGE OF TOMORROW and spew love out of every one of our orifices. Then Ammon revisits MULHOLLAND DRIVE and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK with his kids for the first time and catches up with BLUE RUIN and GODZILLA. Law also checks out 300: RISE OF AN EMPIRE and WILLOW CREEK.
Stay tuned for our penultimate commentaries for Game of Thrones and Fargo later this week!
This was supposed to be a part of Monday’s Binge Cast but with all the love we had to give Jimmy O we decided to save it for another time. This is that other time. Consider this the Inception of Binge Casts. It is the Drunk Segment within it’s own Drunk Segment. We are simply drunk as shit talking about this other time we were drunk as shit, listening to Moreno try to review THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL. There are four parts to this debacle and each one gets better (worse). Law had no interest in what Moreno is saying and Ammon is just pointing and laughing at him throughout. Moreno’s frustration is only barely over-matched by his drunkenness.
After recording last week’s Binge Cast, Moreno and I were hanging around doing drunk shit for a couple hours. One of those things was a text to Jimmy O about coming on our show to promote AIRPLANE VS. VOLCANO. I pressed send and we giggled as we waited for a cease and desist letter to arrive in our inboxes. And then Jimmy O messaged back and said “Let’s do it!” So here we are, with a moment we thought would never happen on BingeMedia.net, it’s the reunion of Jimmy O, Moreno, Ammon, and Law during one of most epic shows imaginable.
Jimmy has tons of dirt on AIRPLANE VS. VOLCANO, his future in the business, life after losing 130 lbs, and his love for the TV show, Nashville. He also has reviews of MALEFICENT, and TRUST ME.
Moreno checks out CHEF, Ammon watches 387 older movies and THE SECRET LIFE OF WALTER MITTY. Law is entertained by OCULUS and bored to death with MONUMENTS MEN.
All this and tons of Fargo, Dusk till Dawn, Hannibal, Louie, and Penny Dreadful talk with a fantastic new TV Round-Up sounder from Pete MC.
Listen, we love Jimmy O with a passion and couldn’t be happier to help promote his involvement with AvsV. I have no idea if this could be a regular thing looking ahead but it sure was a blast to have one more night with one of the best guys in the world.
Stay tuned later this week for a very special BingeCast: Drunk Segment podcast featuring a brand new, four part, drunk conversation about THE GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL.
Law and Moreno get a little old school on the Binge Cast this week. After packing Ammon up and sending him camping for the week, the boys whip out the old Drunk Segment. It’s simply audio from a conversation we had last week but slowed down to make us seem even drunker but f-me if it’s not hilarious. Every time.
As for show stuff – TV Round-Up features lots of Fargo and Game of Thrones talk. Google Voiuce still sucks. Moreno checks out some more 30 For 30 docs and finally talks about ENEMY. Law tries to straighten things out in the X-Men universe with X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST and sits through a trilogy of films that his dad picks out. Not good.
So many great things come out of this week’s Movie Homework. Come for the discussion on the finer points of the BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY and stay for any or all of these special features:
Moreno slowly but surely fades into drunken oblivion, not unlike Marty McFly himself.
Law finds a loophole in Part III that makes the whole Doc Brown-Clara Clayton relationship a farce.
Ammon finds even a bigger loophole that throws the entire third film into the garbage.
Moreno’s reaction after watching the third film for the very first time.
Ammon finds another loophole in part II that makes no sense whatsoever.
Did I mention how drunk Moreno is?
Our idea for a fourth movie that includes the phrase sequel/prequel and makes Law’s head explode.
All this and more inside this tightly wound ball of amazing. Press play. Listen. Ear orgasm.
Welcome to another epic edition of the Binge Cast where we talk about everything from our personal Game of Thrones house sigils to “You know, that song about the music and then the radio is on?” Ammon is so drunk at the end of this episode Law and Moreno are a little scared.
Things kick off with some TV Round-Up and straight into Fargo. We also dicuss Game of Thrones, From Dusk till Dawn, Hannibal, Silicone Valley, Penny Dreadful, The Americans, and others.
Google voice provides one of the show’s creepiest moments when it sounds like a caller leaves a message from beyond the grave.
When it comes to What Did You Watch This Week, Moreno fires off 6 or 7 30 for 30 documentaries. Ammon watches NEIGHBORS, THE MECHANIC, and JAWS. Law fits in ENEMY, and CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. And then Law and Moreno get down to business with GODZILLA, answering all of Ammon’s questions about the film. Even the ones he is incapable of asking. So drunk.
Stay tuned this week for another Game of Thrones commentary, Movie Homework featuring the BACK TO THE FUTURE TRILOGY, the Fargo commentary, and a new Binge Music Cast. We’re here all week long, bitches!
We’ve taken our licks from GODZILLA ’98 over the years. As recent as last week, the arrogant giant prick spit in our face after we recorded our first commentary for this film when it disappeared seconds after we finished. Finally, after years of torment, Ammon and Law get to take out every last bit of frustration with this piece of garbage. There’s too much going on in this commentary to summarize so I’ll just say this – We hate this movie with a passion and let nothing slip by us as we tear it apart, scene by scene. This is definitely one you don’t want to miss.
