The boys get their superhero groove back on with reviews of Zach Snyder’s Justice League and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. There’s lots of other film and television stuff going on too, as well as voicemails, drinking, and yelling. So much yelling.

On this weeks issue of Small Screen Heroes I’m joined by Jack and we do some old school game cast talk and discuss the Avengers game beta and the potential of what this game can be. Also I break down the Batman Death Metal event and DCs restructuring and management layoffs and much more.
In the newest edition of Small Screen Heroes, Batch is joined by Matthew Goudreau, who helps Batch stay in the DC lane he loves so much. The two talk CW’s newest superhero show, Stargirl. They also discuss the big news that Zack Snyder’s Justice League is finally coming thanks to a ton of people hashtagging the shit out of the internet with #releasethesnydercut. YOU GOT YOUR WISH. 2021! Moving on, Birds of Prey is chatted about, as well as Justice League Dark: Apokolips, the new Harley Quinn cartoon, and finally, Mortal Kombat 11. BINGE-ALITY.
Batch and Logan are back to talk some geeky stuff, including an Endgame theory that involves Thanos’ ass. No, really. It’s out there on the internet. For real. Supernatural and Arrow are ending. The boys get pumped about James Gunn returning to direct Guardians of the Galaxy 3, which of course has them chat about his involvement in the DC Extended Universe…if that still really exists at this point. The dynamic duo talk Shazam of course and how they are both equally ready to jizz all over that movie. Comics talk follows, as Batch discusses Cerebus the Aardvark, Young Justice, and WWE by Boom Studios. Logan of course is reading Spidey books. Big fucking surprise. Logan gives his thoughts on Captain Marvel as a movie, and Batch provides a nice little history on the character. The two wrap up the show talking about the remainder of the first season of Deadly Class and more about Umbrella Academy.
They also discuss porn movie titles for the latter. You’re welcome.
Another year, another Aftertaste check in with our man Adam Simon. But this one was much differently conceived than before, While trying to brainstorm who to have with me to discuss the hot topic of what the whole Harvey Weinstein mess means for Hollywood in general, I didn’t think long to come up with Adam’s name. And much to my surprise, when I brought it up to him he was more than willing to delve deep into how this affects the entire industry. He also has his own personal Kevin Spacey story. And in light of what has come out about him in the last few months, it leaves a chill down your spine.
But that’s not all. We also talk about our opinions of the newly released Justice League, the current state of comic book films, online critics, and of course what Adam is working on for future release. So what are you waiting for? Download below to listen to Matthew Goudreau and I drill Adam (ew) for damn near two hours, and get ready for a big retrospective which will end yet another year of Aftertaste airwaves. Oh, if you want to hear what that is, stay tuned until the very end when I give it away.
Thanks to Adam for once again taking the time to Binge with us!
Chad C gets all super hero-y again for JUSTICE LEAGUE and considers crying by himself in a theater for WONDER. Which is better? What should you see? How many nude scenes in each? All (none) of these questions are answered inside your computer right now. Or your phone. Or whatever. Shut up.
Season 1 of Legion is in the books and on this week’s Small Screen Heroes, Batch is joined by Jack Valley aka Johnny cupcakes aka Smash Valley aka MovieFreak to give you their SPOILER FILLED thoughts on this groundbreaking season. From the style, to the music, to the characters, all things Legion are discussed and much joy is expressed. Batch also breaks down David Heller’s comic history as well as the history of the Shadow King and how they differ from the show.
It’s been a big week for comic book movie news as well, so we discuss the breaking news of Joss Whedon Batgirl movie and can Joss possibly save DC comic movies and get the films out of the suck hole that is the zack snider verse.
And finally how the hell can you have a Venom movie without Spider-man?
Did you love Legion as much as we did? What Legion based stories from the comics are your favorites? Let us know in the comments below
Happy 2017 party people,
Small Screen Heroes has a very special year in review show for you. I had to recruit the one and only Binge timestamper and biggest Spiderman fanboy I know, Logan Fowler, to recap what is awesome and what sucked babadick this year in terms of comic based properties.
From the awesome of Deadpool to the dumpster juice that is Batman vs Superman, this was a banner year for comic movies. The inner geek in me is happy we can actually have a Suicide Squad movie, or that Doctor Strange, of all characters, can not only carry a movie but also be a pivotal part of Marvel film universe. We also saw Spiderman come back huge as part of Civil War.
Looking forward, 2017 sees the return of the Guardians of the Galaxy, Justice League and Thor kicking ass with Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok. Plus, Hugh Jackman goes full tilt berserker like we all have wanted to see him in Logan, the film based off the classic old man Logan storyline from Wolverine.
Also on this week’s show, we cover the huge first two issues of Justice League Vs Suicide Squad events. SPOILERS. I fill Logan in on what’s been going on in the Spiderman: Dead No More storyline with the return of everyone’s favorite Spiderman clone Ben Reilly. The Timestamping Wonder also gives us his review of the Nintendo Mini Classic in some gaming talk we couldn’t fit in on the last gamecast.
I’d like to take a second to mention some good that actually did happen in 2016. You guys have helped Small Screen Heroes be a thing at Binge Media, and as we continue to carve out our own niche here, I’d like to thank everyone who’s come on this show to shoot the shit and geek out with me last year. I promise, 2017 will be even more nerdier, more rantier and, well, I challenge Garrett to come on this show and tell me how terrible everything is. Maybe Smallville talk will tempt him.
On this weeks show Batch is joined by the returning Denny Luis and the 2 give some expert analysis to the first few issues of the civil war 2 comic event from marvel as well as the
X-men, Hercules, and Spiderman tie ins.
We also pull a casting call for a possible Inhumans movie and give some good picks for who should give marvels royal family some real screen presence.
Preachers most recent episodes are also covered in depth as well as reviews of Justice league vs Titans animated movie and Batman bad blood.
Also the latest on Arrow casting news and Justice League movie talk
