BMFML – Official Rules and Regulations 2017
Finally here it is, the Official Rules and Regulations for the 2017…
BingeMedia.Net Fantasy Movie League
Follow along because I’m not repeating myself. That’s why Jack and I recorded a Wake and Bake and why I am writing it here for you to read as many times as possible until you understand. If you still have questions, or feel like bitching about something because you have an empty hole in your life you are trying to fill, do so below. Enough rambling, here goes.
1. – Registration is now open and you can do so in 1 way. Submit a Draft Board. You will submit them to: BingeGameCast@gmail.com. You will submit them as an attached Excel Sheet where we can copy and past your submitted “column” into a new sheet. Failure to do this will piss us off and any found after the deadline will be subject to our feelings that night as to whether or not we allow them. Registration for the league closes at 12pm Central Tuesday February 28th. This will hopefully allow for us to set up each Conference and Division within, to announce by the start of the League on March 1st. If you have Facebook and are not yet a member or the Official BMFML Group you can join over here. It’s a closed group and therefore you must request membership.
2. – The official selections you will need to make for your team will be as follows –
Actor/Actress x 6
Director x 2
Movie x 2
We increased the rosters to 10 and you can pick any combination of 6 Actors and Actresses. You also now get to choose 2 Directors and 2 Movies. This means more points and who doesn’t like more points? When submitting your Draft Board you must use the spelling for your submissions as they are on IMDB. Having a non standardized submission last year caused lots of headaches. Don’t be that person. Remember, rank how you would want them selected. We will not be separating the categories. If you want an actor as a director you must dictate this by marking a -D after their name. Otherwise we will assume you are using them in the actor/actress slot. This does also allow you to pick a person twice. Though I’m not sure who would do that.
3. – The part you all have been waiting for, Scoring. Scoring will be as follows:
A) Box Office Points – 10 for 1st, 9 for 2nd, etc… nothing changes here (Points given to all categories)
B) Magazine Covers – 5 pts (Points given to actor/actress/director) (previously scored for 3 pts. Voiced Characters i.e. Dory on an EW will count)
Magazines used for scoring are People, Entertainment Weekly, Us Weekly, Total Film, and Empire. (T.V. Guide was removed and Total Film was added early last season)
C) Points for Fresh Rating – That’s right if your movie scores a 70% or higher after its Opening Weekend concludes, more points bitches!!
70-79% – +3(was 1)
80-89% – +4(was 2)
90-99% – +5(was 3)
What if you select the shittiest of films and it scores below 60%? -5 points. (Points given for Movie Category) (was -2)
D) Points for weeks in first – If your film stays in first place for 3 weeks +3 point, 5 weeks +5 points. (Points given for Movie Category)(was +1 and +3)
E) Box Office Record Points – If your film breaks the record for a May opening, bam bonus point, Memorial Day Weekend opening, bam bonus point. Every record that gets broken earns you a point. (Points given for Movie Category)
F) Poor Opening Points – By points we mean negative. If your film opens in Wide Release and it doesn’t break the Top 5, -5 point for you sir/ma’am. (Points given for Movie Category)(was -1)
NEW WAYS TO SCORE!!!
Captain Pick – You will have 1 week after rosters are announced to select a “Captain” of your team. At the end of the season if your captain ends up with the most points on your team you will receive an extra 25pts. If not you get nothing. If you do not submit your captain choice by the week deadline your first pick will automatically be your captain.
Divisions will be staying the same and we will be adding and filling in accordingly. All divisions will be announced ASAP but by April 1st the latest.
4. – The Regular Season Begins on March 1st and will end on December 31st. Point tracking also ends on December 31st. Previously We tracked for few weeks after allowing for movies released in the last week to be counted for something. Well things change and this adds to the Strategery. The second round scoring will again consist of The GC Game (for now), Stupid Comments, and then a Final Jeopardy question where points will be wagered and anyone can win. The final round will be, like always, the Pick the Winner Oscar Contest.
Well that’s the summary. There will be more info such as updated Scoring sheet/site and all that good stuff in the coming weeks. If you want more detailed info go listen to this week’s Wake and Bake with Bob Ross. Any questions let us know in the group or below. Good luck all you CSers, you’re gonna need it.
