So, If Zack Snyder doesn’t make the same decisions you would “he’s not a real filmaker” “not real storyteller”.
You are such a douchebag Garrett, its fucking enraging. You beeing a frustrated filmaker yourselfe, should first look at your own body of work before saying shit like this. You would fucking kill to have 1% of the tallent Snyder has!

Good show guys, great perspective on each character; I am using this time to comment on the previous retrospectives so bear with me if i wonder into those. First let me start by saying my top 2 comic book characters are Superman and Batman. Although I am definitely a Batman guy I guess it dawned (no pun intended) on me that yes I am a Superman guy, probably more that I would probably have admitted or just realized. I do take my Batman characterizations very seriously into who he is, what he stands for and what he means to other characters within a story probably, more than the audience. With that said I have noticed that I find myself defending/explaining actions or just character depictions of Superman more which in turn brought me to the realization mentioned before.

First I want to get something off my chest before I go deeper, it is nagging me and I need to write it down so I don’t think about it too much and miss something I want to say. The whole my mom is Martha and your mom is Martha is not what I took as the “BFF” moment for Superman and Batman. From what I took in the movie is it had more to do with the Flash’s vision to Bruce about saving Martha. Now we (the audience) took it as a connection to Bruce’s mom, but at the moment Bruce hears the same name come from Superman and Lois telling him that it’s Superman’s mother, its then than Batman realized the vision (not dreams, something that may be cleared up in the sequel or extra scenes) had to do with Superman’s mom and not his or Lois as the desert vision eluded to as the reason for Superman going bad guy on us. Being the detective he is, puts the pieces together and figures out there is way more going on and Superman is mostly needed for something more. A lot of folks seemed to have missed that and I need to point out what I took from it and see if anyone else caught it on a second thought.

Ok whew, got that out of the way onto the characters. I am not breaking new ground here and pretty much on the same page as most folks when I say that this is probably one of the best Batman interpretations ever. One thing I did like about this version and what most if not all other versions missed on is that no one is sure what Batman is. Is he a person in a suit, some night creature or made up story? He is referred to as “It”, “a Devil” or just the Bat. I never liked Batman being known as a man in a suit (to most). To me it was always best that he be a mystery to the criminals and general public. The criminals need to fear that there is possibly something, not necessarily someone, out there that can stop and hurt them. Is it real, did the police make it up to scare them, let them roll the dice and see what happens? Much like Nolan/Bale’s Batman this one was focused on her war on crime, it was great to see him in action that not always had a connection with Superman, just doing what he does. I agree with Jack, one of the best if not best fighting scenes ever. Regardless if it was spoiled in the trailer, seeing on the big screen was worth the price of the ticket.

I didn’t mind Superman in Man of Steel. Yeah there were some things wrong but thought it was a nice base to start from and hoped for more in the sequel but I just didn’t see the character grow in BvS. I would have liked to see a more friendlier Superman, not the one scowling all the time. I didn’t hate him or dislike him, I actually do like Henry Cavill but just wanted more from the story rather than from the actor. I still have hopes in upcoming sequels. Everybody else was fine, not really a bad character in the movie save for Doomsday. I enjoyed the movie up until then, seriously could have done without that whole battle at this time. The fight was good, seeing the Trinity take on Doomsday was fun for me, but it is all ab0out timing and this was not the time for it, too soon. Later in sequels would have been best.

Luther was different but didn’t hate him, quite surprised with the character and enjoyed more than I thought I would. But if we are going to play the woulda-shoulda game my money was and still stand by this, would be on Denzel Washington being Luther. Like Mr. Norris said he needs to have a physical and mental authority and Denzel can bring that.

Ok, I can go on for 10 more pages I but need to come to an end. All in all I enjoyed the move for what it was and I am looking forward to seeing the sequels and related movies. I definitely will give this a go around again, will wait for Blu ray most likely though. Final call 7.5 on 10.
