(Working On A Title) Wednesday – 08/12/15 – St. Paul & The Broken Bones (Again) & DDP Yoga
Welcome, welcome, welcome. Listen to what I gots to tell you!
St. Paul & The Broken Bones
OH MY LORD I HAVE BEEN REBORN!! Again. Sweet baby Jesus people, I know you don’t like it when people repeat themselves but sometimes things need repeating. I don’t care if you’re white, black, brown, yellow, red, green, purple, or blue. If you in ANY way, shape, or form, enjoy music, whether it’s rock, rap, blues, country, western, techno, trance, house, or any other genre and sub genre and sub sub genre, you have got to appreciate Soul Music.
Now ladies and gentleman when you think Soul Music I bet you don’t think a few white boys from Alabama do you? I didn’t think so. During a (Pre?)Lollapalooza after show at Tahlia Hall in Chicago, St. Paul and the Broken Bones put on another unbelievable performance that very few artists can and/or do. These guys bleed Soul and they leave it all on stage, each and every night.
These guys have been on tour for almost 2 years now in support of their debut album and have managed to keep the show very fresh. I was lucky enough to catch them 3 times during that stretch and have been surprised each and every time. This performance they did a cover of I Want You (She’s So Heavy) that was just out of this world. I believe they will be taking some time off to get in the studio and record/recover in the near future but please, I IMPLORE YOU, the next time they come to your town, do whatever you can to see them. You will not be disappointed.
DDP Yoga
Yes, that DDP. Although referred to throughout as YRG (possibly standing for Yoga for Regular Guys) DDP Yoga is a fitness regiment that focuses on isometrics and strength training through various exercises referred to as the Diamond Dozen as instructed by Mr. Diamond Dallas Page himself. Yes, we all wish Kimberly was helping him, she’s not, let’s move on.
I was actually turned on to the workout by fellow site contributor and a co-host to the Binge GameCast, Batch. I was always interested in the workout since I heard he put out this set and when Batch told me that it was pretty legit, I got myself a copy and got to it.
I’ve been doing the workout for the better part of 3 months now (max 3 times a week with 2 weeks off) and have achieved results and have not grown tired of it. I also have only gotten through the first 4 videos (2 of which were instructional and the other two being Energy and Fat Burner), but that has to do more with really wanting to learn the workout rather than following the recommended schedule or laziness. This is something that seems to be stressed, making the workout yours, once you understand how the exercises work the areas of your body it makes total sense.
The best part of this set of 11 workouts is only 2 are over an hour, the rest are between 20-35 minutes. Leaving pretty much no excuse to not squeeze a workout in at least twice a week, another reason I enjoy this particular program. If you’re looking for a workout regiment that will help you tone up, build strength, and burn fat but you’re short on time this may be a good one for you.
I want to get back to Los Santos so that’ll do it for this week. Don’t forget to leave any comments below and follow me on Twitter @jekupka. Until next time, I leave you with this.
And this…
