(Working on a Title) Wednesday – Filming A Movie, NHL 15, Wilfred, & Benjamin Booker
Filming A Movie
So this past weekend I had my very first experience on a film set. Well a short film anyway. A friend of mine ran a Kickstarter campaign a while back to fund a short film and it was finally time to film it and I was a featured extra. Let me be the first to tell you how fucking boring “acting” is. We had a window of 7 hrs to shoot, I was needed for 3 scenes. Totaling about 30 minutes of my time. I now know why they have trailers on sets. The interesting part was finally being on site for a behind the scenes look. Sure I’ve seen plenty of extra features on many a DVD/Blu-Ray but it’s much different in real life. Check out some of the pics below and if you want to find out more about the short film entitled The Evolution of a Gen-X Music Purchaser you can go here.
NHL 15
If there is one thing that I do enjoy about the start of football season is knowing it means Hockey season is right around the corner, as is NHL 15. If you know me at all you know that I absolutely LOVE EA Sports’ NHL Franchise. I don’t buy every year because while there are changes it’s usually nothing major. My history has been to grab every 3rd or 4th, unless The Hawks won The Cup, or if I obtained a newer system. Well I happen to have an Xbox One and FINALLY the NHL Franchise is available. EA decided not to put out NHL 14 for the Next Gen consoles last year, which I’m okay with, I’d rather have the real thing than just a port. ANYWAYS… NHL 15 is almost upon us and I am psyched. With new additions such as 12 Player NHL Collision Physics, Real Puck Physics, and a new commentary team of “Doc” Emrick and the Blackhawks own, Eddie Olczyk, EA Sports continues to give it’s fans the best game possible. You can read more about what NHL 15 brings here. As always I will try to setup a League and maybe this year it will finally happen. Probably not. Well enough of my rambling on, if I can’t sell you on it maybe the video below can.
Wilfred
The season finale of Wilfred aired last week and for once I got a very satisfying end to a show that also did not wear out it’s welcome. To bring you to speed, Wilfred is a show that aired on FX from 2011 to 2014 and is based on an Australian series of the same name. The show follows Ryan and his (mis)adventures with his neighbors dog, Wilfred. The thing is, Ryan sees a person in a dog suit when he sees Wilfred, while everyone else just sees a dog. After awhile you find out that there is actually a bigger story here and it takes 4 well made seasons to give us a conclusion. I really don’t want to say much more for fear of spoiling anything. If you like a good dark comedy or a well told story you will enjoy Wilfred. Even those who don’t like Elijah Wood should be able to tolerate him enough for this. Wilfred is streaming on Netflix. Check out the original trailer below.
Benjamin Booker
Not much to say here. Debut Album dropped yesterday. It’s been streaming for a week. I only got to listen it to it for the first time on Sunday. I’ve listened to it over a dozen times at this point. See video below and get his tour dates here. I’ll be at Schuba’s on 9-27 if you wanna say hey.
That’ll do it for this week. Any comments, questions, or concerns? Leave ’em below. You can also follow me on twitter @jekupka Until next week I leave you with this…
