Working the Weekend with Luke-7/27/14-Wrigley Field, 50 Shades Trailer
Welcome to this week’s edition of WORKING THE WEEKEND WITH LUKE. Honestly, I’m not going to keep you long this week. I’m exhausted, I’m hungry, and I want to go to sleep. And MONEYBALL is on. However, my loyal fans deserve something so here it is.
MY DAY AT WRIGLEY FIELD
Hopefully, you all had a nice weekend, but I can tell you that mine was freaking amazing. It’s pretty rare that I get to hang out with my brother and sister and have it be just the three of us. With children and spouses and significant others, it’s hard to be able to do that. But this weekend, an opportunity came up and we took advantage of it. I made the three hour drive to Chicago for the weekend and while my mother watched my nephews, my older sister Kimberly, my younger brother Matt, and myself spent yesterday at one of my favorite places in the world: Wrigley Field.
It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon for the St. Louis Cardinals versus the Chicago Cubs. If you don’t know much about baseball, it’s one of the biggest rivalries in the game, and it’s always a great time. And for those of you confused on my sister’s attire, she’s wearing a Cubs shirt because she lives in Chicago and roots for the Cubs, but wearing the Cardinals hat as a tribute to our father. He passed away nearly two years ago and he was a HUGE Cardinals fan, so that’s why. It’s just an easy way to pay tribute to him and he would have thought it was so cool that the three of us were at a Cubs-Cards game together. The Cubs lost 6-3, but thankfully I’m not one of those guys who lets the outcome of a game ruin his whole day. What this day was about was the three of us spending the day together at a special place and it was awesome. We drank beer, ate peanuts, sang the 7th inning stretch at the top of our lungs, had a blast with the people around us, and just soaked in the atmosphere. I don’t get to go to Wrigley as much as I’d like, but yesterday was a special day with some special people at an epic sports venue. Every single time I go there, I turn into a kid again. It’s that green grass, the scoreboard, the ivy, all of it. I’m already looking forward to my next trip. But the evening certainly didn’t end there.
You have to remember that I work for Binge Media. Do you really think that I would just go home after the game?
Yes, that’s me with a personal pitcher of sangria and a straw.
No, I have no idea why I’ve got crazy eyes going here, but I still love the picture. Call it a “cheers” to my brother and sister for an amazing weekend.
50 SHADES OF GREY TRAILER
Well, it’s finally here. The movie that your girlfriend just has to see now has a visual. Good luck listening to “OMG, I can’t wait seven more months to see it”. Look at this way boys. If it gets her all hot and bothered, just go with it. Personally, I have zero desire to see this movie. It looks just absolutely awful. And the trailer itself is actually quite boring. Sure, Sonny Crockett’s daughter is pretty hot, but here’s the way I see it. If I wanted to watch a movie where a seemingly clean-cut businessman has secrets and really isn’t all he seems, here’s what I’m going to throw in.
Give me Patrick Bateman carving up coworkers and hookers over Christian Grey doing….whatever the hell he’s supposed to be doing.
So that’s it for me this weekend. My pizza’s here, so I’m going to watch MARRIED and YOU’RE THE WORST on the DVR before I go to bed. Make sure to check in with MONDAY MORNING MORENO tomorrow and the rest of the boys throughout the week. As always, you can comment below or follow me and tweet @THElukenorris. Until next time kids. But before I go, here’s this week’s BEVERLY HILLS 90210 clip of the week. Remember Brandon’s shot at stardom? You do now.
